The Twins

Before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, a set of female twins were attending college and enjoying the freedom that most Afghan women experienced under the former Afghan government. One of the sisters was married, and the other lived with her sister and brother-in-law.

A free life is the only life they had known.

The husband was out of the country on business when the Taliban took control. The twins were unable to leave their house because they didn’t have a male escort, and they could no longer go to college.

As educated females without a male escort, their situation was dire. Task Force Argo worked with the twins to get them out of Afghanistan. They are now safe in the US and looking forward to completing their college education.

One hopes to be a teacher.
