Task Force Argo partners with Task Force Sunflower to rescue 409 from Afghanistan.

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, an incredible partnership between Task Force Argo and Task Force Sunflower rescued another 409 people from Afghanistan. Task Force Sunflower provided crucial funding while Task Force Argo coordinated flight arrangements and landing clearances. Both task forces arranged housing, transportation, and flight manifesting for their respective passengers. Task Force Argo continues to collaborate with Save our Allies on the reception and temporary bed down of the evacuees in a nearby country.

The passengers included three American citizens, twelve U.S. green card holders, and 79 of their immediate family members. The flight also evacuated 222 Special Immigrant Visa holders, applicants, and their family members.

Task Force Argo vetted the passenger flight list with U.S. State Department and the receiving host nation government. The vetting ensured no criminal or terrorist entities made it on the plane.

Task Force Argo and Task Force Sunflower gave these 409 people a fresh start on life after escaping the dangerous situation in Afghanistan. After a temporary hold in the landing destination for processing, the passengers who do not have final U.S. immigration status will be brought to a refugee processing center in another country.

There are still thousands of Americans, Green Card Holders, and Afghan allies left behind. Task Force Argo needs help in raising funds for future flights, safehouses, and follow-on refugee camp operations.
