Task Force Argo successfully evacuates 550 from Afghanistan.

In the last 72 hours, the amazing volunteers of Task Force Argo successfully evacuated 550 American citizens, lawful permanent residents, special immigrant visa holders, Afghans-at-risk, and their families from Afghanistan to a refugee processing center in the Middle East. Task Force Argo has collaborated with Save Our Allies, another evacuation organization, on the reception and processing of evacuated families at transit locations.

Two days ago, Task Force Argo successfully evacuated nearly 160 souls. This morning, Task Force Argo sent the best news to its volunteers:

“Airborne with 394 total souls.

Of our pax, 174 are female and 125 are children under 18.

Of those children, 71 are under 10, and of those 39 are under 5.

Our youngest was born on 11 Sep 21.”

The families arrived in the destination country and were received by host-nation officials. They were then housed in a refugee processing facility. The families have all reported the facilities are very nice, with each family getting their own room and bathroom. The facility includes medical services and food.

The families will wait there until Task Force Argo finalizes their next destination for complete refugee processing, as well as repatriation for American citizens and lawful permanent residents in the U.S.

The families have continuously thanked the Task Force Argo volunteers that helped them, many of them stunned at how many complete strangers fought day and night to bring the families to safety. One family expressed, “I will remember this, that you stood by me in the most darkest moment of my life, as a friend, and as a someone we have never met. But you have been the source of the light for everyone in my entire family.”

Task Force Argo has over 3,000 additional people it is trying to evacuate from Afghanistan. The rescue efforts require significant funds for safehouses, food, transportation, and chartered aircraft. PLEASE HELP! You can donate by going to Task Force Argo’s website (https://taskforceargo.com).

Task Force Argo is working in partnership with Special Operations Association of America, a veteran non-profit organized under 501(c)(19) and is taking custody of all funds in accordance with its bylaws.
